He often acts as the self-appointed leader of the trio.His skill as a violinist precedes him. His impeccable talent proves bewitching to most all who are given the chance to hear and see him perform. For this reason, Lorien often does well with first impressions; "Lefty Lory" being the "better man," socially speaking.It isn't until one may have the opportunity to get to know him that he can be seen for how sensitive and even fragile he is. While the rest of the world may see a prestigious music idol, Mina and Branson (and Sal) have come to see him for the over-dramatic, yet lovably emotive gentleman that he truly is.

Brief History

Hailing from Alexandria, Lorien comes from a relatively wealthy family who has more than accommodated his dreams of pursuing music. Given that he is an only child, such wealth served to spoil him, to some extent.He grew up with his mother, father, a butler and grandfather, sharing a particularly close bond with his grandfather, who shared his somewhat peculiar history tied to an even more peculiar treasure hunt with him. While having been instilled with the wonder of a treasure hunt, it held the same agency as a fairy tale to him in later years; fascinating to entertain, but never taken seriously. At the end of the day, music was both his muse and his forte.He exuded musical talent and wished to pursue this gift furthermore in Lindblum once he reached his late teens. Endlessly chasing his claim to fame, he eventually encountered Mina and Branson along the way. His solo act would soon evolved into that of a musical trio.Between being given a rather gratuitous allowance and doing quite well enough for himself in the music world, Lorien one day invested in a little airship that would allow for the group to extend their reach and broaden their horizons. The three would one day earn the title of the "Lindblum Trio," a talent gaining some measure of recognition all across the Mist Continent.Almost entirely out of sight and mind current day, the "childhood fantasy" that was his grandfather's curious treasure hunt would come back to haunt him, however. In his grandfather's passing, left to his name was a curious treasure map. One he had seen in his youth, he was sure, but finally felt compelled to consider beyond a "fairy tale."

    Translated from Italian, Lorien's full name is more or less the sum total of the words "bold, spirited, glimmer, glisten and gleam." All of which describe him quite well, frankly!

  • Lorien is a left handed violinist. He has earned the goofy little title of "Lefty Lory" in some circles for this reason.

  • As may be made evident by his dark eyes, eyebrows and roots, Lorien is not a true blond. His reputation and fame eventually led him to emphasize the "golden child" motif by going blond; he felt it suited him more than his natural black locks.

  • While very diluted and, by extension, not very apparent, Lorien has the blood of Summoners running through his veins. He eventually taps into this minor amount of combat potential through music as well.

  • Notoriously a light weight when it comes to alcohol, Lorien often avoids spirits unless tempted by peer pressure... of his own design, given his ego!

  • There is some bad blood between Lowell and Lorien. There are whispers that the two had been in a relationship once upon a time. Needless to say, things didn't work out!
